HBG/HCT

The Hemoglobin and Hematocrit test measures the amount of hemoglobin (the oxygen-carrying protein in red blood cells) and the proportion of red blood cells in the blood. Hemoglobin (Hb/Hgb): Indicates the concentration of hemoglobin in the blood. Low levels suggest anemia or blood loss, while high levels may indicate dehydration or polycythemia. Hematocrit (Hct): Represents the percentage of blood volume made up of red blood cells. It helps determine if the blood is too thin or too concentrated.
